Super Moon…moon tales never end.

Yet another Super Moon!!! The Moon has come very close to the Earth after decades! The distance between the two is known by an interesting term- perigee. I walked to the Saigon river banks yesterday but was a bit late to see the rising moon. The moon was up and glowing like an oversized silver ball. Rather disappointed, I did moon around for a while, basking in the silver light and admiring the glowing Moon up above..

SUPER MOON  OF NOVEMBER!

Today I caught him red-faced. My one hour wait proved worthy! As they said in the social media it was unique and  ‘undeniably beautiful’! What a splendid and stunning sight it was! The big reddish orange moon rose from behind a building, across the Saigon river. The river water was glowing richly and as the moon ascended the sky the colour slowly turned pale yellow. I stood there awestruck.

in heaven’s high bower,

with silent delight sits and

smiles on the night.

As usual I was over the moon because a full moon is out and kept on clicking photographs.

  1. And beautiful photographs they are, rethy. I didn’t see the moonrise, but early this morning — very early — I woke to moonlight streaming in my window. This is the time of year when moonset occurs where i can see it, and it was wonderful to watch it for a while before going back to sleep.

There used to be what we call an “old wives’ tale” that sleeping in moonlight could make a person crazy — moonstruck, they called it. Perhaps this could explain a few things!

    1. Linda, you’re blessed to be moonstruck! How beautiful an experience it would be to sleep in a moonlit room! The setting moon is even more beautiful with a bluer sky as its backdrop. The full moon, I believe, has undeniable powers on the human mind as it has controlling powers over the sea. Moonstruck or lunatic, the terms are rightly derived. In Indian mythology, unlike other mythologies, Moon is a male god.
